Size matters

It occurs to me that one of the main reasons I upgraded to the Nikon D800E digital SLR is for the size. After visiting the Peter Lik galleries in Las Vegas in 2011, I was in awe of the visual impact a highly detailed, well-shot photograph can have when printed at a very large size. I wanted to have that impact with my own photographs. Unfortunately, online presentation does not have that capability. And I have some photographs that were shot with my older digital cameras, or that have been cropped for composition, that cannot be printed in extra-large sizes.

How would anyone know, when browsing my portfolio, which images can be printed really large? In order to make the large images easy to find, I have created a gallery entitled “Extra Large.” This is the place to look if you are an interior designer or decorator wanting a big, high-impact photograph to display in a large space. Happily, while sorting images, I discovered that nearly every type of photography I shoot is available in large size. Additionally, both vertical and horizontal orientations are represented, so no matter the shape of the space, there is a print that will fit it. Some of my best work is in this gallery. All images are printable up to six feet, and some up to nine feet! Maybe some of these works will end up in hotel lobbies, convention centers, courthouses, airports, or other large spaces.
